The best wraps at the supermarket
Wraps are one of those staples that end up in almost every shopping trolley. Lunchboxes, quick dinners, homemade pizzas, breakfast wraps... they do it all.
But while they all look pretty similar on the shelf, the ingredient lists can vary a lot. Some contain a long list of emulsifiers, preservatives and additives, while others keep things much simpler.
Our advice? Look for wraps made with recognisable ingredients and a shorter ingredient list where possible. Lower sodium is a bonus too, especially if wraps are a regular on your menu.
Here are some of our favourite picks.
1. Mountain Wraps Organic Wholemeal

Made with just four ingredients: organic wholemeal wheat flour, organic wheat flour, filtered water and sea salt.
This is about as simple as it gets. They're also a great source of fibre (2.2g per serve) and contain no unnecessary extras. They do sit at the premium end of the shelf, but if simple ingredients are your priority, they're hard to beat.
2. MEB Foods Fresh White Wraps

A fantastic everyday option with one of the lowest sodium levels on our list at just 170mg per serve.
Made from wheat flour, water, wheat fibre and iodised salt, with added vitamins as required in Australia. They're soft, versatile and excellent value at around $1.50 per serve.
3. MEB Foods Wholemeal Pita

If you're after something different to a traditional wrap, these wholemeal pitas are a great choice.
Made with just wholemeal flour, water, yeast and iodised salt (plus added vitamins), they keep the ingredient list refreshingly short while providing a little extra wholegrain goodness.
4. Baker's Life Wholemeal Lebanese Bread

Our budget-friendly wholemeal pick. At around 50 cents per serve, this is one of the most affordable options available. It also provides the highest fibre on this list at 4.3g per serve, making it a great option for wraps, pizzas or dipping.
While the ingredient list is a little longer than some of our other favourites, it's still a solid everyday choice for families shopping on a budget.
5. Nana Traditional Lebanese Bread

Sometimes simple really is best. Made primarily from wheat flour, water, yeast, sugar and iodised salt, this is one of the most affordable options on supermarket shelves. It also has one of the lowest sodium levels on our list, making it a great pantry staple for everything from lunch wraps to homemade pizzas.
6. HealthyBake Organic Khorasan Wraps

Made with organic Khorasan wheat flour, rye sourdough, olive oil and sea salt, these wraps stand out for their wholesome ingredients and traditional sourdough base. While they do contain soy lecithin and have a slightly higher sodium content than some of our other picks, they're still a great option if you're looking for an organic wrap with a simple ingredient list and a hearty, rustic texture.
Made primarily from wheat flour, water, yeast, sugar and iodised salt, this is one of the most affordable options on supermarket shelves at around 56 cents per serve. It also has one of the lowest sodium levels on our list, making it a great pantry staple for everything from lunch wraps to homemade pizzas.
