Confectionary without artificial colour

Confectionery is most commonly packed with sugar and artificial ingredients, making it impossible to find a perfect option from the supermarket.

But we get it—on Halloween, most kids that go Trick or Treating will consume a wide variety of confectionary.

This Halloween, you can make a small, impactful change simply by choosing options without artificial dyes. A UK government-funded study found that specific mixtures of artificial food colours and benzoate preservative (211) can contribute to hyperactivity and attention issues in children and the European Union mandates a warning label on foods containing some food colours*.

While no such regulation exists in Australia, read on for some better options to consider this Halloween that are free from artificial food colour.
